I created our event in the political forum, it's "under review" so we'll see if it's posted.
I should be able to do more tomorrow.

Re: Local Media Emails
I was watching the news tonight and First Coast new mentioned St. Augustine's Occupy event and also mentioned our event from this past Saturday in the same breath. They are still claiming there were only 200 people there. I was wondering if you'd like me to email them quickly just to clarify that there was definitely not 200 people, there was at least double that. It's not a big deal but still kind of irks me when I hear it.
Re: Local Media Emails
I thought about it, and I don't feel like we can, since it was obviously more than 200, but we didn't do any type of count, so we don't know =( (Something that should be fixed this Saturday!!!)

Re: Local Media Emails
Once the general assembly starts and most people are standing relatively still. A few people that can count quickly should stand at a high point with a good view and do a rough headcount.
Pictures from this vantage throughout the assembly meeting could be used to get a rough count while allowing people with good memory to catch when there's people they've seen before.
It'd be like solving a puzzle and playing a game of memory all in one.

Lol, last time there were too many people to get a single photo (I tried!). Maybe next time I'll try my "panorama" function.

Re: Local Media Emails
Why not have people at the entrances counting as people arrive and they can be like greeters too

Attendance count idea...
Office Depot sells consecutively numbered rolls of 2000 raffle tickets for $5. Perhaps a free raffle for a T-Shirt or whatever. The number of tickets handed out would give count.

Re: Local Media Emails
That's a good idea. What could we raffle off that would be appropriate?

Re: Local Media Emails
If we ever march, we should have a video stationed at the end of the march. Count the marchers. If you shoot the plaza while the march is going on, we'll be able to add them to the number marching to get the attendance.
