Diversions

I haven't worked since January 2004, I'm sure many of you know the stress and mind games that come with this. I'm fine now, this isn't about work and joblessness. That said, it is really, really nice to get away, especially out of Jacksonville for a while. I have a great day trip for ya.

Moultrie is northwest of Valdosta, about 2.5 hours from here. Farmers don't really get our cause, they are more teabagger types, maybe a bit of deliverance mixed in. That said, these are people of the earth, they grow what we eat, what we wear. (even though most of it gets shipped to china) It is really a nice day out, lots to do and see. We never did make it over to the food area last year, it's a must this year. I would love to go out and see the machines in the fields too. It is frigin huge! It's on an old abandoned air force base, there is still an airport operating there. They have a great app to boot!

I know it cost a bunch in gas and $10 to get in, but it is a really nice day out. Here are pics from last year.

While on the subject of Moultrie, the have a swap meet there too. It's pretty stunning as many of you are too young to know when this was daily life for us!

The Jax Arboretum is in about as stupid a place as they could make. It's like the north and south going zax. It's off monument right northeast of 9a tucked away, back at the end of a neglected road. No one goes there, it's a pretty nice place to go and chill in nature, it even has hills!

It was fun till time to leave they closed most of the exits because of the rain, it was hell! We had loaded up on free peanuts from the GA peanut commission or we would have been really cranky! Car show next month!
