Hi I'm Evey!

Hi Everybody! I'm Evey. I'm on the admins for the Facebook.com/OccupyJax site and Twitter.com/OccupyJax. If you interested in helping out on one of these sites, please send me a PM. I teach English for a living, and I am also a certified yoga instructor. I can help with organizing, researching, and spreading the word. Once we are occupying I would love to lead meditation/yoga classes like they are on Occupy Wallstreet. Nice to meet you all!

I can help with the Facebook page if you need it. I just can't use Twitter at the moment, do to the Release Conditions from my Anonymous case. But anything I can do to help, just ask!

Hi Evey...

Hello Evey! Can't wait to see you and others tomorrow! I don't know if this is all planned out already, but I want to suggest a clean up party afterwards so that we leave Hemming plaza looking nicer than before we arrive.

Great idea! We had already talked about this a bit, but I definitely want to encourage it. I plan to bring some latex gloves to keep us safe and make more people want to participate!

I heard some discussion that tomorrow is a general assembly and thats all? But itsn't it a gathering then a march and then at 2 pm there will be an assembly? or vis versa? I just need to know should I bring signs or not, I want to bring them eitherway.

Please bring! 12-1pm: Networking/sign making 1-2pm: General Assembly Meeting to decide goals 2-3pm: Walk around the neighborhood (with signs!)

ok, one more question (for now): How long is Occupying jax going to last? Will people begin right away camping out or is this gonna be come and go?

The police have informed us anyone trying to camp out will be arrested. This is only the first event of many, and we will decide at the General Assembly by vote when/where to occupy. Also, legal reps should be present and able to answer questions about what we are allowed to do.

The problem with camping out is that the local laws will not allow for it. To stop the homeless from camping at Hemming Plaza they have enacted laws that prohibit such activities downtown and in fact most all the public spaces. Jacksonville has systematically made it difficult to gather without the expenses of permits and insurance.

bastards.... what can be done...any way to get around these laws...?

so, there are no such laws in NY? Are the places we CAN camp? or "loiter" without being arrested? I'm wondering how they are staying for weeks in other cities...
