God is pro-economic justice

You won't hear this at some mega-churches parroting a right-wing, corporate party line but God is on the side of the poor and oppressed.

There are approximately 2,000 verses in the Bible dealing with poverty and justice. The American Bible Society even distributes a Poverty and Justice Bible. http://justicebible.americanbible.org/

The Prophets of the Old Testament ! What more could they say?
1. The righteous were sold into slavery (Amos 2:6; 8:6; Joel 3:3).
2. Some of the slaves were submitted to illicit sexual treatment (Amos 2:7, 24).
3. The court and justice system were perverted against the poor (Amos 2:7; 5:7,
10, 12; Mic 3:1, 9, 11; 7:3; Zech 5:3–4; 7:8; 8:16; Hab 2:6–8; Hos 10:3–4).
4. Property of the poor was confiscated illegally (Amos 5:11; Hab 2:6–.
5. The poverty of the poor was used to provide luxury for the rich (Amos 2:7;
6:1–7; 8:4).
6. The commercial powers cheated and took advantage of the poor (Amos 8:5;
Mic 6:10–11; Hab 2:9–11; Hos 12:7).
7. The stranger, widow, and orphan were abused (Mic 2:8–9; Mal 3:5; Zech 7:10).
8. Laborers were defrauded of their wages (Mal 3:5).
9. Common laws of humanity were disregarded (Amos 1:611; Obad 10–14; Zeph
2:8–11).
10. The flesh of the poor was torn and their blood was shed (Mic 3:2–3; Hab
2:12–14).

When Jesus began his ministry, he announced,
The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. (Luke 4:18–19 NIV)
Jesus taught that his followers were those who fed the hungry, clothed the
naked, and tended to the thirsty, sick, and imprisoned (Matt 25).

Welcome! We need more Christian representation! There are a few of us but many of us, at our age, are incapable, due to health and age, to attend the demonstrations. I'm glad you broke it down for the capable people who want to attend. Well documented. We see the sermons, what do they teach in those Sunday Schools? The inequities became evident when we discontinued our bus ministry about the time the schools were integrated in the 70s. Jesus didn't preach charity enforced at the point of a Roman spear.

Yet you use Jesus' Name as moral justification for forcible confiscation from those who have to those you think really, really deserve it.

'Charity' and 'force' are irreconcilable opposites. Not even a liberal can change this.

This sounds like a classic 'separation of church and state' issue.

Liberals have a really, really flexible set of principles that always seem to permit whatever they're doing at the moment.
