The fairs crank up pretty soon.
We could capitalize on the large crowd opportunity.

I don't see us getting involved with the fairs to be a very good idea. Maybe advertising, but anything else could be seen as very hostile.
Re: The fairs crank up pretty soon.
I think that's what was being insinuated. Maybe passing out fliers?
Re: The fairs crank up pretty soon.
I would be down with that. Maybe see if we can get into any advertisements involved in the fair?
Re: The fairs crank up pretty soon.
I was thinking wearing my 99% t-shirt and printing out some flyers to pass out. Most people don't participate because they are not asked. Music venues are another good place to educate and invite. We need to make it look deliciously contagious. I am never involved in anything that can possibly be interpreted as hostile.

The fair people are total dicks, good chance of getting arrested doing anything on city or fair property. Also, fair goers are not going to be that friendly to the cause, even though they are totally the 99%. I used to work there for the city and fair. There is a big push to get it out of the inner city and more what a fair should be, but the fair people are adamant not to move it. If you don't know, there have been near riots down there, I don't read or watch any news so don't know if that has been reported on.
Paying for a booth would be great, but that will cost dearly.

Constant Public Presence
We are really needing easy-to-wear collateral (i.e. t-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers) so occupiers can represent in the most nonthreatening way at public gatherings, job fairs, grocery stores, the mall ... People will talk to you about it and learn from you. We are the 99%. This is what campaigning looks like.

There was talk of getting t-shirts printed up on FB, there should be a report back here when that happens or planning and quotes and such. Till then, we went all ghetto and got some avery inkjet t-shit transfers and went all DIY!
All you need is a printer, software that can flip an image (it needs to print reversed) and an iron! Not great, but doable!

You make it sound so easy. We need you to be there Friday. People are collecting light-colored t-shirts, previously imprinted is ok, no holes. A couple of people have volunteered their screen printing equipment and others are going to produce inkjet printers. You are going to fit right in! 5pm Memorial Park.

Re: The fairs crank up pretty soon.
Here's the shirt info:
$4 for white T-shirts with whatever color ink (one color)
$5 if we wanted color shirts with whatever color ink (one color). If we choose a dark shirt color, the only ink option is white.
This is for printing on both sides of the T-shirt. We're taking ideas from everyone about what to put on them.

Is there a place where I can download the graphics to make my own T-shirt?

Re: The fairs crank up pretty soon.
You will still need some sort of image editor to flip the image. We got ours from here.
http://www.occupytogether.org/downloadable-posters/
It's not hard to make something, any photo editing software can do it. Most can't open pdf's though. Some of the posters are in pdf for printing.
There are plenty of free editors, none are great, but they are ok.
Gimp , paint.net, Picasa can flip stuff and do basic editing too and integrates with all of google's other services. I think all 3 are cross platform.
I think the art team is meeting tomorrow, that may be an item they could provide, getting people images to print out? I don't know though, can always ask!
