The purpose of this post is to keep track of who volunteers for this group and to indicate what skills and equipment you may be able to supply if necessary. As people post, I will edit this post and the list to include those who wish to join. Of course, all are welcomed!

1.) Joshua W. - Decent Public Speaker / Decently Educated / and can donate some time & money to inform the people.

2.) Tom R. - Not to much talking but i will donate time to spread the word. I can print flyers etc. Just let me know what i can do.

7.) Katie L. ~ Can certainly speak or interview if needed. I also would like to create a fund/supply raising effort on facebook to get necessities to send to those on the front line on wallstreet as well as for the movement her in jax as it grows. <3

I can organize personal contact information for the the teams so we can contact each other with information and questions. I know i have allot of questions myself. As i reach further out in the community people have questions that I can't answer yet and i don't know who to ask.

An idea is to have people who have note paper and pencil in case names of people need to be taken down who are arrested. i saw people taking names down in NY. i doubt this will be need here but i think we should be ready just in case.

Also volunteer greeters. People who have information and help direct people who just show up. Direct people to medical, food and water, parking info, pass out information flyers about Occupy ect. These are just some ideas.
If you have some ideas concerning media and marketing the message PLEASE POST!!! We need every to participate.
Also What about carpooling information? can we figure out strategic points around town where people can volunteer to give someone ride? maybe to rallys that are scheduled later on?

i built the "main" page..and post stories on there as much as i can so i guess that consists of media. im a fairly decent speaker and a great writer. i have experience with..i hate to use the word..propaganda..influential way of wording things ..which is funny because im a pretty quiet person until i have an audience haha. i have taken public speaking,philosophy,psychology, and sociology and know how to blend it together to achieve goals. im not saying im a major in any of those things but i have taken the classes haha.

and the list of people is something that definitely needs to be done. even if someone just records the facebook im attending and maybe attening lists.very good idea..

in fact its a good idea to be prepared for anything and everything you can imagine. because you never know.

JSO mentioning not feeding the homeless has me a bit troubled...to me it kinda says they are annoyed and they may be looking to target individuals. i have also heard talk of people wanting to feed the homeless and get intentionally arrested. someone on the main page should address this issue i think as well. i touched on it a little in a post of my personal account.

but being a martyr is not gonna do anyone any good at this early stage and that is not something we need people to be doing at the very first collective. i know this may not be the right place to speak about this but the names list idea had my mind working and i was thinking "out loud". journalist/blogger habit, hard to break.

Zach Addair - Hey everyone. I am a good public speaker (I spoke on Saturday, so I can be judged!). I'm well read and enjoy film editing and music editing (i'm in a local band as well) and am well versed at putting a finished piece of work together. I feel I would be useful in any place on the media team you needed someone to fill in.

Guy F- Marketing degree with some local media relationships. Excels at social media and have experience working with local government officals in my prior town. Excellent public speaker, but prefer to work off camera for professional reasons. I'm a former corporate exec who quit of my own accord a number of years ago when I couldn't consciously contribute to the company's strategic intentions anymore.

i am Amy H - i have worked (professionally & as a volunteer) organizing large events, have professional sign making & design experience, personal experience with housing, feeding & organizing moderately sized groups of people, live right around the corner from the park, have a large network of folks sympathetic to & supportive of the cause (artists, activists, local political figures, professionals, governmental officials & employees, lawyers, local business owners, promoters, writers...i mean all sorts of folks) some of which have contacted me to find out how they can help.

would be most interested in setting up an organizers meeting so that we can more easily discuss ideas on how to best facilitate the meetings & rallies themselves (not so much getting lost in actual message or issues- which is where the GA comes in, obviously).

would love to hear from some of the moderators & find out how i can be most useful...

J. Frinks: Great at public speaking (sometimes), i have a laptop, a DLR camera (that works when it wants), flip cam, portable sound equipment, and tons of connections. went to UNF for politics and started a website ipolitic global to help people get connected and get empowered.

The Ippies Awards is the only journalism awards in NYC to honor reporting in English and in languages other than English by the ethnic and community press. The Ippies are considered a benchmark of journalistic excellence and are a coveted prize for the publishers, editors, and reporters in New York City's ethnic and community press. Since 2002, the awards program has served as a vehicle not only to honor outstanding work but to promote coalition building within this media sector, and to draw mainstream and progressive media attention to the people responsible for bringing community perspectives to our attention. Starting 2008, the 7th year for the Ippies Awards, the celebration event also served as an opportunity to reach out to immigrant advocacy organizations, labor, NYC government agencies and other media sectors to network with the ethnic and community press, which many have found difficult to access.

Call for applications to NYCMA member publications start in June, for articles and graphics in the following categories:

Best investigative on in-depth story on an issue overlooked by mainstream media or of greatest community impact
Best feature
Best editorial or commentary
Best article on immigrant, racial or social justice issues
Best article on labor issues
Best overall design
Best photo essay
Best photograph
Best podcast
Best video

Entries are considered in groups defined by the publication's circulation. All foreign-language entries are translated into English and passed on with all other submissions to six independent editorial and graphic judges for evaluation. Winners are announced at the Ippies Awards Dinner in March.
