The medical team needs tailors! and also staples?

So in attempting to make activated carbon facemasks, I've found that hot glue guns melt the plastic/paper blend that makes up the mask, and also it burns the crap out of one's fingers. Cold glue just sinks in and makes a mess. Staples work, and should be used, but we can also use sewing to make this work. Anybody good with a needle and thread, Medical needs your help!
