City Council Meeting 10/25

Post by OccupyProChoiceJax on Fri Oct 14, 2011 1:57 pm

This thread is for all who are interested in signing up and organizing for the next city council meeting, October 25th, Tuesday. We can discuss our plans for what we'd like to say, possible topics, etc.

I agree I would like to see as many people as possible be there for city council meeting... I am really opposed to the city paying for JPMorgan to move here. 250 jobs at cost of 250,000 from the city and another million dollars from the state it's not worth it

This is a great idea. There are some local issues that should be discussed. Isn't the mayor part of the 99%? Is he sympathetic to our plight?

I watched via the live streaming. Excellent support and statements made by several people. Unfortunately based on the statements made by the members of the board, I believe they already are going to approve it. Apparently their palms have been greased as they say. They posponed the vote till next month, I'm guessing in the hopes that puplic protest of it will die off. That will definetly not happen. IMO I think one of the goals that we might be able to get everyone in the 99% to agree on, is for ANY political held position, to be able to be voted off, with a majority of the popular vote. This should get the Tea Partiers on our side, with them wanting to get Obama out of office. And will give us some sort of power to use against those that are representing the puppet masters, and not the people they are supposed to represent.
